Mechanisms of action

Anticoagulant (factor Xa inhibitor).

Inhibits activation of platelets and formation of fibrin clot by direct and reversible inhibition of factor Xa.

Consult guidelines and literature about safety, suspending and restarting anticoagulants when performing invasive procedures.

Do not withhold anticoagulation solely due to risk of falls.
